During lockdown I obviously had no actual brand shoots with clients, so I bought a couple of Barbies and proceeded to create my own on my dining room table.

Much to the bemusement of several people who got some interesting whatsapp photos, and in my lovely hairdresser Kitti’s case, an out of the blue “if I was going to cut a fringe for a doll how would I go about doing that?” message.

I’d not been able to resist the Barbie with long pink hair, but the one which was actually poseable did most of the heavy lifting for this shoot.

Would probably say this was the start of the descent back into fashion doll obsession, with hindsight!

Here’s the carousel:

And a couple of my favourites (though 2026 me is looking back in horror at 2020 me and the visible blu tac and the all-Barbie branded furniture, not to mention some of the posing… but we live and learn, and this is still a happy memory from the hideous time that was most of 2020.)

There’s also a post over on my brand photography site, as that’s what I originally did this for.
